Timberland are fast becoming popular for their eco-friendliness with the brown Timberland boxes now being made from recycled card and their bestselling boots being made from recycled leather and rubber, making the Timberland Earthkeepers range some of the most eco-friendly and ‘green’ boots ever made. With the climate as it currently is this is proving popular with men around the UK and Europe, who need a pair of boots for the winter, but also like to feel as they’re doing their bit to help with recycling and reusing.

The amazing Timberland ‘Nature Needs Heroes’ advert from last winter is back on TV screens in the UK, and is highlighting their amazing lightweight 6 inch premium earthkeepers which are available in light brown leather, 50% recycled white rubber soles and even organic cotton laces. These possibly are the most eco-friendly boots available at the moment, and I am really looking for a pair before the snow comes!

Hiking Boots – Fashionable Ramblers This Winter

Yes you read the title right, designer hiking boots are in fashion this winter as the whole ‘outdoor’ look expands further this year. Last winter saw fashion forward brands and retailers dip their toes into the world of outdoor clothing, with quilted jackets, gilets, padded outerwear and boots appearing on bestselling lists for a variety of online retailers, with the high street suffering slightly due to the bad weather and limited transport in certain areas. Anyone who pays attention to their fashion has seen this theme coming for quite some time now, and will have been prepared with their beige chinos, chunky knitwear, macs, bodywarmers and hiking boots. A couple of articles back I reviewed the new Ralph Lauren shoes and attached some pictures of the boots with rolled up jeans and the above clothing in a couple of alternatives showing the way to dress this season is quickly hitting screens of blogs and forums around the UK and Europe.

Hiking boots are going to be huge for the brands this winter with Timberland, Lacoste, Ralph Lauren, Native, Marshall Artist, H by Hudson and Red Wing to name but a few all producing brown, tan and black boots with varying soles and quality leather uppers. Prices will vary depending on the brand, or what you’re looking for, but in short the hiking boot will be an affordable footwear addition to your shoe rack this winter, and if cared for properly will still be in fashion next year and able to be worn with the trend next year. In the recent GQ magazine the hiking boot was featured in its fashion shoot pages and looked really well alongside some beautiful chinos and jeans, thick knitted jumpers, scarves and hats, and not forgetting the winter coats and autumn macs. This winter is going to be an amazing trend, with some really tonal brown, green and khaki colours used for the clothing and footwear. Sadly its time to retire the espadrilles to the confines of your cupboard for next summer and start getting your boots and wellies sorted, with the wellies being featured here soon…

Timberland – Not Just Boots!

American outerwear and iconic boot brand is fast becoming a brand for all seasons, with the classic boot, euro sprint ankle boots and premium 6″ boots available in the winter for the wet weather and the snow and the other flip side of Timberland is available for the summer. With the supposed warm weather this year there will be plenty of chance to flaunt your ankles underneath a pair of shorts, and Timberland has created the perfect footwear to fit with your favourite summer look and keep right on trend for 2011. The superb range of chukka boots, flip flops, deck shoes and sandals are all available for the summer season in a variety of styles, designs and materials with a super range of prices. Chukka boots are for your jeans and chino wearing days when its a little bit chillier or you need something that little bit smarter and Timberland have provided some amazing styles, including a couple of shades of leather boot but also an amazing canvas boot that is set to rival Sperry Topsider this season. If you’re wanting to stay casual or you’re lucky enough to be on holiday or just want to chill down the pub then Timberland have covered this base for you. Longer 3/4 shorts or jeans, chino shorts or cargo shorts can be worn with the range of flip flops, sandals and deck shoes that currently adorn the spring summer collection. The sandals are from the hugely successful earthkeeper range and are made from recycled products including a large quantity of rubber, providing the company with a very ‘green’ look as these amazing flip flops and sandals sit alongside some of their best selling boots. The deck shoes have been reviewed before by Designer Shoes and Trainers to an extent and are by far the most versatile piece of footwear in the collection, being able to be worn with pretty much anything (except jogging bottoms!!). Wear them with or without socks, with or without jeans or simply play around with your own personal style and do a bit of everything.

Timberland was once just a winter boot brand, now they’re attacking all seasons and really do ensure that a good quality piece of Timberland footwear can be worn 365 days a year, for most occasions and events. Any good fashion or footwear retailer will stock the Timberland footwear range, just make sure that its the fashion range not the outdoor range that you’re looking at otherwise you may end up rambling rather than on a sunny beach!
